As a candidate for the Southampton Town Council in this November’s election, I’d like to introduce myself to your readers.

I’ve lived in Southampton for the majority of my adult life, working, raising my children and marrying here.

I originally moved to Southampton to take a management position at Hampton Jitney. As a vice president at the Jitney, I helped it grow from a small business into one of the most successful companies on the East End - 27east.com

HELP SUPPORT THIS IMPORTANT CAMPAIGN

The one who gets it done

“I am honored to have the opportunity to run for a Town Board seat this fall.  I’ve lived in Southampton for almost 40 years, working, raising my children and marrying here. With the support and encouragement of so many friends and family I look forward to serving our community through continued public service.

As a Town Board member, I will help lead our Town forward by combining my private and public sector experience with my ability to listen, understand, and act on behalf of those who live in this special place we call home.”

A leader in community traffic safety issues

As the Towns 1st Traffic Safety Director he supervised the lowering of speed limits on over 20 roads and the installation of traffic control devices and roadway improvements Town wide. Working with the community and Town Board, he coordinated speeding enforcement efforts with the Police Department.

A strong fiscal manager

As the Town’s 1st Transportation Director, Tom led the effort to obtain transportation improvement funds, then managed Federal, State and Town projects worth millions of dollars.  On time, on budget projects including the South Fork Commuter Connection, the South Fork Bikeway and the Bridgehampton Traffic Safety initiative.

A public service record
of listening, understanding and acting

Having worked in both the Town Planning and Municipal Works Departments; and more recently as a Planning Board member, Tom has a long history of meeting and working with Town residents.  Hearing concerns and exchanging ideas, then acting on behalf of the community.

A record of supporting local business

As a Vice President at Hampton Jitney, Tom was instrumental in helping it grow into one of the most successful businesses on the East End.

He also worked to help other local businesses succeed by serving as President of the Southampton Chamber of Commerce and as an appointed member of the Town Business Advisory Council.

He’ll get it done for you!
